Available for sale is a 1916 Ohio State Buckeyes Football "WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS" 10K GOLD Authentic Player Issued Championship Award!! These were given out in the early 1900's in the place of a Championship Ring. The first Ohio State Championship Rings weren't awarded until the 1950's. In 1916 the Big Ten Conference was named the "WESTERN CONFERENCE" before changing their name shortly after to the BIG TEN CONFERENCE. Award is made of quality materials using durable 10K GOLD!

This rare, 10K award was presented to Half Back #12 Paul HURM, as engraved on the back of the charm, for being a member of Ohio State's first ever undefeated Western Conference Championship team, in 1916. Under fourth year head coach John Wilce, the Buckeyes compiled a perfect 7-0 undefeated record and outscored opponents 258-29. 128 of those points came in a shutout over Oberlin, setting a single-game scoring record for Ohio State. OSU finished 3-0 against the OAC, and 4-0 in the Western Conference to win the school's first Conference Championship in history! Paul Hurm played with the great Chic Harley and was a halfback on the Ohio State Championship football team in 1916. Hurm scored on the first play of the game in the Buckeyes school record-setting 128-0 win over Oberlin. He joined the Army and played on a well-known military team that included several All-Americans. Hurm later played for a Pennsylvania professional football team. This is a part of half back Paul Hurm's Personal Collection. Hurm was a part of the famed Ohio State backfield that also included Chic Harley and Pete Stinchcomb. Only 33 players were on the 1916 Ohio State Football team. Condition is near Mint.
