ROUND 1 of the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF: 2024 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF FIRST ROUND vs TENNESSEE: ​In the first round of the 2024 College Football Playoff, Ohio State dominated Tennessee with a 42-17 victory. The Buckeyes established a commanding 21-0 lead in the first quarter, with quarterback Will Howard connecting on two touchdown passes to freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith. Running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson each contributed two rushing touchdowns, while Howard amassed 311 passing yards. Tennessee's quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 14 of 31 passes for 104 yards and added two rushing touchdowns. Ohio State's defense limited Tennessee's offense, particularly in the second half, to secure their advancement in the playoff.

QUARTERFINAL ROUND of the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF: 2025 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF QUARTERFINAL GAME vs OREGON(ROSE BOWL GAME): ​In the 2025 College Football Playoff quarterfinals at the Rose Bowl, Ohio State delivered a commanding 41?21 victory over top-ranked Oregon, avenging an earlier season loss to the Ducks. The Buckeyes surged to a 34?0 lead by the second quarter, propelled by quarterback Will Howard's three touchdown passes and freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith's two touchdown receptions. Running back TreVeyon Henderson added two rushing touchdowns, including a 66-yard run. Ohio State's defense overwhelmed Oregon's offense, sacking quarterback Dillon Gabriel eight times and limiting the Ducks to negative rushing yards. SEMI-FINAL ROUND of the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF: 2025 COTTON BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL GAME vs TEXAS(COTTON BOWL GAME): In the 2025 College Football Playoff Cotton Bowl, Ohio State defeated Texas 28?14, securing a spot in the national championship game against Notre Dame. The game remained close until the fourth quarter, when Ohio State's defense made a decisive impact. With Texas trailing by one touchdown and just over two minutes remaining, defensive end Jack Sawyer forced a fumble on a fourth-and-goal attempt by Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Sawyer returned the loose ball 83 yards for a touchdown, effectively sealing the victory for the Buckeyes . Earlier in the game, Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson caught a 75-yard screen pass for a touchdown, and Quinshon Judkins added two rushing touchdowns . Despite a strong performance from Ewers, who threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns, Texas struggled in critical moments, including failing to score on a first-and-goal at the 1-yard line.
